Choosing the right lens
The intraocular lens (IOL) replaces your eye's cloudy lens during surgery. The right lens depends on your eyes, your astigmatism, and how you want to see at distance, intermediate, and near.
Monofocal IOL
A high-quality lens that provides clear vision at one distance — typically distance, with reading glasses for up close.
Toric IOL
Corrects astigmatism at the time of surgery for sharper, less glasses-dependent distance vision.
Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF)
Provides a smooth range of vision from distance through intermediate, with reduced halo compared to multifocal lenses.
Multifocal / Trifocal IOL
Designed to reduce dependence on glasses for distance, intermediate, and near — discussed carefully for the right candidate.
Combined cataract + MIGS
For patients with glaucoma, cataract surgery is often an ideal time to lower eye pressure with a MIGS procedure.
