Sayyada Maela Hyder, MD

Dr. Sayyada Hyder is a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate eye care with a focus on the medical and surgical management of glaucoma and complex anterior segment disease. Originally from Pakistan and raised in Kentucky, Dr. Hyder brings both a global perspective and strong community roots to her practice.

She earned her Associate in Science degree from Bluegrass Community and Technical College before completing her Bachelor of Science at the University of Kentucky. She went on to receive her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.

Dr. Hyder completed her ophthalmology residency at Weill Cornell Medicine / NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where she trained in the care of a diverse patient population and complex ophthalmic disease. She then returned to the University of Kentucky to complete fellowship training in glaucoma.

Dr. Hyder is passionate about preserving vision through personalized care, patient education, and the use of advanced medical and surgical treatments tailored to each patient's needs.
